I've always wanted a garden, but really lacking a green thumb. Plus, we're always moving so I just wasn't into it. This year, even though we're renting and aren't sure how long we'll be in this house, I decided to quit putting things on hold. The kids love banana peppers, so we grew those, jalapenos, basil, and tomatoes. I didn't get one tomato all spring and summer. No, I take that back..... I got ONE! But we kept watering, and got a huge crop in the fall. I tried pickling the peppers, but unfortunately the kids still like quiznos banana peppers better.... go figure!! We had to go out and pick everything before our first frost, so I am about to try anothet "first"..... canning! Going to make chow-chow! We'll see!!
Trish's Wedding/ Penn State Game
Thursday, November 10, 2011
It's getting harder and harder to keep up and remember everything I want to blog about. But I did want a jot down a quick post about going to Trish's wedding in Austin in September, and going to Penn State with Paxton in October.
Trish's wedding was beautiful, and unfortunately, I didn't have my camera for most of the wedding, because Trish really was a gorgeous bride. They are living in SC but came back for the wedding since all of their family lives here. Paxton and I had fun getting away for the weekend. The reception was at Dave and Busters Friday night, which was a blast!
Penn State was a blast! Paxton's dream was to see Joe Paterno before he retired, and we did. Looks like it was a good thing since he just got fired. Big mess in Penn State and glad we went before it all started. And the game against Iowa was AWESOME. We loved it there and would probably go back every year if we could. So much fun in Happy Valley! And it is pretty there! Love all the old farms!

CHANNING LOSES A TOOTH!
Thursday, November 3, 2011
Her first tooth! One day a month or so ago she was crying that her tooth hurt, and I thought "oh no, a cavity". When we got home I took a look and quickly realized it was loose. She was so proud! We haven't been hearing much about it over the past couple of weeks, but then she started having a really hard time eating last week and it was getting looser and looser everyday. Halloween night she decided she was ready for Paxton to pull it. She was SO NERVOUS, but so excited when it finally came out. The tooth fairy left her $5.00, and now she is really looking like a big girl!
Halloween 2011
This year Halloween was so EASY and so fun! I actually just had surgery the Thursday before for my umbilical hernia (the only not so great gift my 3 beautiful babies gave me), and by Saturday I was worried that I wasn't going to hold up for the festivities. The pain set in and thankfully MA and Paxton were here to take the reins. But by Sunday I was bouncing back, and we had the most fun staying home, grilling and baking, watching football, carving pumpkins, and doing all that awesome "fall" stuff (have I mentioned that I LOVE the fall?)! Monday Laura and Grayson came for pizza, and then we headed to Lantana for trick or treating. Maddox stayed at the house with MA. We parked at Laura's friend Kathy's house, who is in the cave woman costume with the giant cat kind dressed as a pumpkin. Channing and Jaxson loved it, and thank goodness after only about 6 or 7 houses they were satisfied and didn't put up a fight about leaving. They had a couple pieces of candy and hit the sack by 8:15. Whew! Mission accomplished! Channing was definitely "clowning around" in her costume.... and Jaxson was a little on the timid side and kept making all of these funny expressions which were cracking me up. Grayson really went the flow, and although I never got to hear it, Laura said every time she asked him what a dragon says he said, "beep beep beep".
The family picture was taken at Presley's birthday party at a huge pumpkin patch in Flower Mound. We made a stop there on our way to Abilene a couple of weeks ago for a Hardin Simmons banquet. More on that trip later.

My Maddox is 8 Months Old!
Tuesday, October 25, 2011
Still a perfect, happy, chubby little baby! He started crawling right at 8 months, is starting to try to pull up, he kisses us with a giant, open mouth, and says "mamamamamamamaaaa!" He's just decided to stop sleeping, and maybe it's because he still has no teeth and is trying to get one?? It's hard to get him on a good nap routine because of dropping off and picking up Chann and Jax, but I am trying to figure it out. Anyway, here are a few pictures of him I snapped before we went to go run errands one day.
