Sean and Kristin's Wedding

Thursday, April 23, 2009

On Saturday, april 18, 2009, my sister became Mrs. Sean Wilson. It was such a pretty wedding! She looked GORGEOUS in her dress, and Sean seemed so happy! Sean's brother and I were the attendants, and their children, as well as Channing, were the flower girls and ring bearer. Caden made the cutest ring bearer! He is just all boy!

One funny thing was that I put on the invitations that the ceremony would take place at "Brother Ben First Baptist Church". I kept wondering where Brother Ben Church was, as I am from Vernon and had never been there. I knew she had joined a church, but assumed it was some new church I had never heard of! I finally realized that she had just written the Pastor's name, Brother Ben, next to "First Baptist Church" when she had given me all the info. for the invitiaitons. I put this all together the day of the wedding. I felt like such a goofball!

Sean has 2 little girls, and Kristin has 2 (Chloe and Caden), and they all get along and entertain one another. It's kind of like the Brady Bunch :)! Anyway- it was great celebration!

Easter... Jaxson's First!

house last week (more pics to come! A lot has changed already!)

Chann's class Easter egg hunt

Although we were sad to spend our first Easter without family, we had a nice time. Unfortunately Jaxson was not feeling too good all weekend, and probably felt the worst Easter Sunday. But he was a great sport through company, Easter egg hunts, and Disney on Ice! Some college friends came with their little girl Friday and Saturday- and we had a blast seeing them. Chandler is just over a year, and such a good girl! Channing tried to take care of her the entire time, just like always with the little ones! Sunday morning we went to The McDougal's with some other friends, and that was fun too! Disney on Ice... we enjoyed it, and Channing really lit up when Minnie and Mickey came out! This weekend is my sister's wedding, and next week is NY- so we have a lot of exciting things going on!

The house is moving along, and we finalized exterior paint color choices yestereday. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Easter Plans!

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Well- this will be the first year that we won't be with family for Easter. Since my sister's wedding is next week, and we leave for NY the next- we didn't want to drive anywhere else with the kids. And we just saw most of our family, and will be seeing them again over the next couple of weeks. But we do have some fun things planned! We are having friends down tonight and tomorrow, then Sunday we are hunting eggs and having breakfast with Juli and her family. At 3:00 Paxton and I are taking the kids to Disney on Ice- which will be a nice Easter treat (for Channing at least!).

My little Munchkins at La Cantera... The Poteet Strawberry Festival..... House

Jaxson and Kendall

Chann rode the bull!

I feel that I am growing as a woman and a mother. Why? Because I took both my children to the Shops at La Cantera ALONE. That may not sound like much to some of you super moms, but to me, it was a major accomplishment! Especially since I was shopping for my New York dress! Here we were, walking through Dillards, Nordstrom, and yes, even Neiman Marcus (not a usual hangout for me- much less with kids!) with my heavy duty double jogger, and let me tell you- those places are NOT made for double strollers! I felt like the Beverly Hillbillies came to town! I am whispering to Channing "DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING! NOTHING IS FOR SALE!". And she is yelling out "WHY IS NUFFIN FOR SALE MOM???!!! THIS IS PRETTY!" Not to mention, I had to flag people down to hold doors open for me everywhere I went. But all in a all, a very fun day and they did great. PS- I thought I was going to be an "ebay power seller" to help make up for all the money I have spent this month. WOW- e-bay is kind of a pain! Some day one of my money making schemes are going to work out!

Then, the next day, because we are SUCH GREAT PARENTS, we loaded them up again and took off to the Poteet Strawberry Festival, which turned out to be torture. Sounded like fun... but it was 95 degrees and PACKED with people. You couldn't get a drink, food, "nuffin", because the lines were so long! We are glad we can say "been there, done that". If we go again next year, it will be EARLY in the morning, before the south Texas heat rears its ugly head! The fun part about the day was that we hung out with some friends Paxton works with, and they have a little girl only 3 weeks older than Jax. It was so cute to watch him with his new girlfriend. Speaking of Jaxson, he is standing on his own for a few seconds at a time, and it also saying "Mama", "Dada", waving and saying "bye bye", and "giving me five". He is also, however, crying if I leave him with ANYONE for more than 5 minutes. We leave for NY in less than 3 weeks.... YIKES!

Our house is looking AWESOME, but moving along rather slowly. I think our high pitch is making it a little more complicated, but we're not in a big hurry, so it's okay. I'm just so excited!

I haven't written in a while, so there is a lot to catch up on! First of all, a couple of weeks ago, my dad and step-mom from Oklahoma, my aunt and her boyfriend from California, and my grandparents from the near Amarillo all came for a 3 day visit. It was SO NICE to see everyone, and the one good thing about the house we are living in... it was definitely big enough to sleep everyone. We played lots of cards, went to the riverwalk, took them on a tour of our big town (haha!), and just did a lot of visiting. I come from a long line of talkers.... we never run out of anything to say (Paxton jokes that we could talk about a rock for an hour!) PS- we all took turns wearing the blonde pig tales that came off of one of Channing's dolls. You can see Jaxson in the picture.... so funny!

The week before that Pac's parents were here, and we had a great time with them as well. They were so wonderful and let us take off for the day to run errands, see a movie.... while they kept the kids. We don't get that very often. They love to stay back in the "guest suite", and are dreading us moving (we can't wait!!!). Paxton's Aunt Jack and Uncle Kim also stopped by for about an hour to visit from the Dallas area, and we were so excited to see them. They are two of the people we miss the most!
