HAPPY Birthday Jaxy!!

I was trying to wait to post Jaxson's 3 year pics, but still waiting on clothes.  Because he is so adorable and melts my heart, I have to go ahead and dote on him.  JAXSON in a nutshell.... quirky, confident, daring, sweet, hilarious, smart, playful, and he has great hair!  He writes and colors well because he has learned from Sissy, he speaks well and is easy to understand.  He loves to swim (just learned to swim without floaties!), loves horses, is scared of dogs, and just gave up his "put-put" (AKA pacifier).  Jax loves to play with Channing, and is so sweet and affectionate to his baby brother.  He is strong willed and has his moments, but I have to say that he is pretty much perfect in my book!

Veggie Day!

One day I decided to be like one of those expert, "everything is perfect" mommy  bloggers and spend a day cooking and taking pictures of the entire experience.  Halfway through the "cooking lesson", the kitchen was a disaster, crayons were everywhere, kids were fighting and sticking their hands in batter....  utter chaos, which reminded me why I usually don't even attempt to take pictures during cooking time :) .  But, we had fun that day picking out all the food at sprouts and experimenting with some new recipes.  Can't say they were all a success.... but we all learned something that day...  It takes way too long to peel the outer layer of chickpeas off, coat them in olive oil and cinnamon, bake them, coat them in honey, bake them again.... all for a snack that only takes about 3 minutes to eat!   Anyway, that night we went out and spread some of our left over veggies on a quilt and snapped a few shots of the kids shucking their corn... they loved it!

Baby Update!

"Oh My Goodness!!!".... are about the only words I can come up with when someone asks me about Maddox.  When he doesn't sleep or is fussy it is a serious shock to my system because he is so GOOD!  His smile is addictive, his laugh is hysterical, and seeing him light up when Chann or Jax come around is just the best.  He is now 4 months.... trying to sit on his own, not really flipping over much nor seems to care, eating cereal like a champ, and still nursing but taking at least one bottle a day (I can't seem to keep up with his huge appetite!).  His laugh is more of a chubby man's chuckle, and he loves to look at you and coo "ooohhhh"  over and over.  I do it back over and over.  We love you, Maddox!!  Hopefully 3 year pictures of my precious Jaxson are coming soon.... trying to think of something fun!!

Tulsa Trip

Recently took a visit to Dad's and Uncle Tom's when Uncle Bob was in.  Kids swam and it was sooooo cold!  Just glad I didn't have to get in!

Jaxson's 3rd Birthday Party!

This may be one of my favorite birthday parties of the 8 birthday parties I've had for my kids.  Yes, it was 90 degrees, and yes the wind was blowing 90 miles an hour.  And no, I couldn't put out half of my decorations because of the wind.  But seeing Jaxson's face when the petting zoo trailer pulled up was priceless.  I hired a company out of Decatur, and they brought a pony, pigs, a goat, rooster, bunnies, and more.  It was awesome and the kids loved it!  We also put up the bounce house, had a "panning for gold" game with sand and gold coins in a kiddie pool, and a "pin the badge on the sheriff" game.  His cake was not the tastiest unfortunately, but soooo cute.  Laura made the cutest cowboy cookies!  Channing had the most fun I think, yelling "This day rocks!!!" halfway through!  We had lots of friends and family, and then by 12:30 the party was over and we could spend the day relaxing.  We took Dad and Deb out for Father's day Sat. night, and then they left this morning.  A great weekend!
